Christian Benoit is a contemporary artist whose work reflects a lifelong interest in architecture, design, and geometric composition. His precisely constructed abstractions explore relationships between proportion, color, material, texture, and sheen.

Benoit earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Environmental Design and Architectural History from the University of California, Davis. His study of architecture continues to inform his creative process, particularly the principles of balance, proportion, structure, and spatial composition.

Influenced by the modernist clarity of Walter Gropius and the Bauhaus movement, as well as the geometric compositions of Frank Lloyd Wright, Benoit brings an architectural sensibility to his work without being bound by architectural convention.

Working with wood, acrylic, paint, and stain, he combines natural and refined surfaces to create compositions distinguished by clean geometry, material contrast, and warmth. Variations in texture and sheen interact with the inherent character of the materials, giving each composition a physical presence that changes subtly with light and perspective.
